چکیده
This work develops a continuum-based combined finite–discrete element method (FDEM) in the framework of explicit finite conjunction with fracture algorithms. To account for complex fracturing processes, both shear failure and tensile criteria are implemented. Furthermore, to investigate effect different algorithms on accuracy computational efficiency simulations, inter-element intra-element developed framework. Then, they compared by two benchmark tests, rock: Brazilian tests uniaxial tension tests. Besides, compression under loading rates carried out demonstrate criterion corresponding algorithm. The simulation results converge decrease sizes algorithm. The algorithm is proven be more efficient accurate processes

An improved Thomas Algorithm for finite element matrix parallel computing
With the expansion of the scale of linear finite element analyzing data, efficiency of computation is a main technical bottleneck. For solving the bottleneck, parallel computation is playing an increasingly prominent role. At present, the researches on linear finite element parallel computation are mainly concentrated on the preprocessing phase, and goal of these researches is to reduce the com...
متن کاملA Super - Element Based on Finite Element Method for Latticed Columns Computational Aspect and Numerical Results
This paper presents a new super-element with twelve degrees of freedom for latticed columns. This elements is developed such that it behaves, with an acceptable approximation, in the same manner as a reference model does. The reference model is constructed by using many Solid elements. The cross section area, moments of inertia, shear coefficient and torsoinal rigidity of the developed new elem...

متن کاملInelastic Continuum Modeling of Carbon Nanotube,s Behavior Using Finite Element Method
This paper describes a continuum model for analyzing the inelastic behavior of a single walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) in different loading conditions. Because of limitations in using molecular dynamics (and other atomic methods) to model the failure load of the SWCNT, continuum mechanics methods are considered in this paper. Based on some experimental and theoretical results, an elasto-plastic...
